2010 Short Film Selections

The New York Surf Film Festival (NYSFF) presented by JetBlue Airways and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic has put together an eclectic short film program encompassing animation, environmental documentaries, comedy, abstract cinema and more. The NYSFF opens Friday, September 24th with a stacked program that will be sure to get audiences hooting and stoked. Each short film is under thirty minutes providing the filmmakers with a great opportunity to show off their creativity within this limited time frame.

“We like to joke that the best films submitted are shorts and this year is no different! The shorts program reflects the international community and diversity of subject matter in which the more obscure aspects of surf culture and history are explored. Not to mention, the majority of them were made by women which we’re proud to show!” said co-founder Michael Machemer of the NYSFF.
